Thesis ePrint Online

I graduated from my PhD back in April (in abstentia), and have finally gotten around to uploading my thesis onto the UTas ePrints site. The thesis was titled ‘Tupleware: a distributed tuple space for the development and execution of array-based applications in a cluster computing environment‘.

The research I completed was based around scalability in distributed systems: it investigated ways in which decentralisation, intelligent use of data locality, and dynamic self-optimised search could be incorporated into the tuple space model of distributed computing. The goal was to show that the tuple space was suitable for executing a certain class of scientific/numerical applications in a scalable way, which was, for the most part, successful.
